It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Martha LeBlanc which occurred Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at the New Waterford Heights, Long Term Care Facility with her loving family by her side.
Born July 20, 1919, in Margaree, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Margaret (Gillis) Young.
Martha was a hard worker, enjoyed life to the fullest and her greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, knitting and spending time with her family.
Martha is survived by her children, Margie Adams, Coxheath, Frank (Rose) LeBlanc, Sydney Forks, Rita (Fred) Taphouse, Bradford, Ont., Janet LeBlanc, Sydney, Gerard LeBlanc, Sydney Forks; brother, Raymond (Susie) Young; daughter-in-law, Carol LeBlanc, Michigan; as well as 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles LeBlanc (1996), son, Jamie LeBlanc (2007), sisters, Loretta Gillis, Rita Young and Florence Furlong, brothers, ‘Billie’ , Thomas, James and Phonsie Young, granddaughter, Rodena LeBlanc, great-grandson, Ryan LeBlanc.
Visitation will take place Friday, Sept. 11 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay, with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating. Interment to follow in church cemetery.
