T. Marilyn MacNeill
MacNEILL, T. MARILYN - The passing of T. Marilyn MacNeill of Fredericton occurred on Sunday, June 19th 2011 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 72. Born in Fredericton N.B she was the daughter of the late Murray and Greta (Poore) MacDonald. Anglican by faith, she was a proud graduate of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1961. She also studied nursing at McGill University, and upon returning to Fredericton, taught nursing at the Victoria Training School for Nurses in the Victoria Public Hospital. She often spoke fondly of her students, remembering the experiences they had during their training. Her nursing career spanned thirty-seven years in a variety of positions, at the Victoria Public Hospital, the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and the Department of Finance. A member of the reunion committee for the Alexander Gibson Memorial School, she also was an active alumnus of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing. Survived by her son Sandy MacNeill (Andrea) of Fredericton, one daughter Marta McMurtry (Craig) of Washington State, USA, one sister Heather MacMillan (Monty) of Oromocto, niece Shawna MacMillan-Beriault (Sylvain) and their children Chantal and Mathieu of Lincoln, nephew Marc MacMillan of Oromocto, special cousin Darlene MacRae of Saint John, aunt Jean Miller of St. John’s, Newfoundland and other extended family. Predeceased by her parents and husband Lyle Preston (Pat) MacNeill.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road where visitation will take place on Thursday, June 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A private graveside family interment will take place at a later date. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be sent to the Fredericton SPCA.
