The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, P.E.I. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 of Viola Brown (nee Malik), formerly of Durham, Quebec, aged 88 years. Viola was born on June 8, 1923 in Slovakia to her late parents, Martin and Monika (nee Salat) Malik. Beloved wife of the late Carroll Brown, and also her first husband, the late Joseph Vanis. Lovingly remembered by her sister Helen Doucette of Summerside, her brother-in-law Steve Tomkin of Cambridge, Ont., along with numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands and parents, Viola was predeceased by her brother Sylvester Malik and sisters Justina Tomkin and Margaret Dominquez. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, June 27, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside.
