Sven Axel Larson, age 81, of Prince Albert, SK beloved husband of Theresa passed away on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22 from Crossroads Pentecostal Church, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Drive. Reverend Ches Jacobs will officiate. Sven is survived by his loving family: his wife Theresa Henry; his children Barry, Sheryl (Rick) Zelanko and Trudy (Calvin) Hemminger; his daughter-in-law Judy (nee Sjolin) and his seven grandchildren Micheal and Steven Larson; Micheal Zelanko, Lana, Jeff, Amanda and Derek Hemminger. He was predeceased by his first wife Jeannette Joyce Lien on October 26, 2002; his son Lyle and his parents Nels and Mable (nee Johnson) Larson. Sven was born on August 2, 1929 in Kinistino, SK. Sven married Jeannette, daughter of Selmer and Estella Lien, on July 15, 1949. After he retired from farming they moved around a lot, spending 16 years in Thompson, MB and later moved to Alberta. He was employed for 14 years with Manalta Coal doing various jobs, retiring in 1994. On August 9, 2003 Sven married Theresa Henry and resided in Prince Albert until his passing. Cremation will follow the funeral service with interment of cremated remains to take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 in the Kinistino Cemetery.
