SPINNEY, Franzell Morrel, 88- passed away Friday June 17, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Black River he was the son of the late Emery and Bessie (Schofield) Spinney. Franzell was a carpenter and enjoyed doing small wood working projects at home. His favourite pass time was teasing his wife of 43 years; Mary (Walsh) who will greatly miss him. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Bobby Curtis, ON; brothers Leo (Lenora), Black River; Harlan, Black River; Blake (Clara) Black River; Elson (Shirley), ON; Frank (Jean), White Rock; sisters Sandra (Bernard) Forsythe, Wolfville Ridge; brother in law Ted Woodworth, New Minas; and several nieces and nephews. Franzell is predeceased by his parents; brother Gerald; sisters Renna Keating; Anne Woodworth; Florence; Vilda; and sister in law Maxine. He was a veteran of the Second World War.”There was no visitation. A funeral memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel, Wolfville with the Reverend Stephen Brown officiating. Burial in the Gaspereau Cemetery, In lieu of flowers; donations in Franzell’s memory may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
