World War II Vet ( Royal Navy) – Passed peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, in the presence of his loving family, on Tuesday, June 21st 2011, at age 90. Predeceased by his parents Frederick & Effie Roberts and brothers: Max & Frederick Roberts and Patrick Coombs. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Greta (Bessey); his children: Yvonne ( Jim) O’Reilly of St. Catherines ON, Judy (Ron) Rose, and Jim (Diane); eight grandchildren: Cheri (Tony) Ventresca of Winnipeg Man, Shawn (Suzanne), Devin Rose (Isobel), Susan Rose (Dr. David Flusk), Julia Roberts (Andrew), Stephanie LeDrew (Ian), Ryan LeDrew (Christine), and Karen Waters; three great-grandchildren; CeCe, Chloe and Erin; also a large circle of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 23rd, from 2:00.p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Funeral service from the Parish of the Ascension, Smallwood Drive, on Friday, June 24th, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mt.
