THÉBEAU, JEAN - 1943 - 2011 - On June 21, Jean Thébeau, passed away at the age of 68, after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his residence in Dieppe, NB. Born in Saint-Ignace, NB, he was the son of Alyre and Délina (née: Thibodeau) Thébeau. Mr. Thébeau had a long and successful career with CUPE, the last 10 years serving as the Regional Director of the Maritimes office. He is survived by his spouse of 30 years, Nicole Richard; his daughter, Natacha Thébeau; his son, Daniel Thébeau and his only grandchild, Alexandria, all from Dieppe. He leaves his sisters: Germaine (Hervé) Bastarache of Dieppe, Marie (Bob) Watson of Moncton, Jeannine (Bill) Wedge of Dieppe, Alice (Gérard) LeBlanc of Moncton, Julie-Anne (Gilles) Robichaud of Richibucto and Rachelle Thébeau (Alain Roberge) of Dieppe; his brothers: Florent “Joe” (Cathy) of Pembroke, ON and Alexandre of Toronto; several cousins, nieces and nephews; the mother of his children, Laurina Thébeau as well as the extended Richard family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Louis-Émile and his stepdaughter, Julie Savoie.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Sunday June 26th, 2011 from 2 pm to 4 pm, with celebration of his life at 4 pm from the chapel.
