Jean MacGillivray (Benson)
January 20, 1928 - May 20, 2011
The family of the late Jean MacGillivray would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all who touched our lives with comfort and support in the death of a loved and respected mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
The many gifts of kindness - whether a visit to the funeral home, thoughtful prayers, a friendly visit or phone call, beautiful flowers, sympathy cards, donations in her memory, emails or the gifts of fabulous food - all helped ease the burden during this difficult time.
Thank you to the nurses and physicians of the Intensive Care Unit and 3A Medicine and the angels in Palliative Care at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their tender, gentle, loving care. You made her final days ones of comfort, peace and dignity. A special thank you to Dr. Mark and Dr. Daisy for their on-going care and compassion.
Thank you to Fillatre’s for their professional care and to Keith Fillatre for indulging her wish to have him drive her to her final service and resting place. To the Reverend Myles Vardy, Gary Graham, Edna Hodgett, the Senior Choir of the First United Church, the United Church Women and the Men’s Service Club, heartfelt thanks for such a touching service and lovely lunch to pay tribute to Jean.
Although we cannot thank everyone individually, please know that your kindness and support will always be remembered. Clearly Jean touched many lives and she will be forever loved and remembered. Jean is now with the love of her life Ralph, in eternal rest and peace.
“When you love someone the memory becomes a treasure”
