COOK, NITA ELAINE (BOWSER) - Sackville, NB - Nita Elaine (Bowser) Cook, of Sackville, NB, passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home on Thursday, June 23, 2011. She was 95 years of age. Born in Mount View, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Harriet (Mitchell) Bowser. Nita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a teacher at Mount View for a number of years and later an employee of Sears Canada Inc. in Sackville. She was an adherent of the Middle Sackville Baptist Church and active in the ladies quilting group. Nita will be sadly missed by her son Edward (Viola), Lumby BC, and sister Dora Thurston of Sackville, N.B. and grandchildren, Janet, Roger and Derek and great grandchildren, Adam, Noah, Bronwen and Sophie. She was predeceased by her husband Earl in 2007.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St, Sackville (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will be held from 1 pm until the time of the funeral at 2 pm on Monday June 27, 2011, Pastor Vernon Vickruck officiating. Following cremation, burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery at a later date.
