It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ramona June Beierle on June 22, 2011 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Mona, as friends and family knew her, was born in Gull Lake Saskatchewan and attended school in Tompkins. She worked for 41 years with the Bank of Montreal beginning her career in Maple Creek, continuing in Swift Current and retiring as a Branch Manager in Calgary. Mona married Allan Beierle in 1969 and although later divorced spent happy times together. Mona loved people and animals and loved being with them. She stayed connected to her work colleagues through the BMO retiree events and was an active member of the Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed fellowship and worship. She loved being "Auntie Mona” to many and thoroughly enjoyed getting together with family and friends. In her quiet unassuming way she sparkled when she was around people and her pets. She had spunk and pluck, and will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, loving kindness and her generous spirit. Many friends and family returned Mona’s love for others in the generous support she received at the Rosedale Hospice where she was comforted. Ramona was predeceased by her parents Opal and Marius Rasmussen, her sister Vella Doreen (Alfred) Stock of Hazlet, and nephew Norman (Marvin and Marie Rasmussen) of Vancouver. She leaves behind many who loved her: Her twin Marvin (Marie) Rasmussen of Vancouver, brother-in law Alfred (Norma) Stock of Medicine Hat and many nieces and nephews, grand niece and nephews, friends and neighbours. Mona was a precious gift to us all. Our lives are richer for having her in them. Friends and family will be received at the Tompkins Legion Hall on June 28 at 11:00 for viewing followed by interment at the Tompkins Community Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Please join us in Calgary for Ramona’s celebration of life on June 30 at 11:00 am at the Presbyterian Church (290 Edgepark Blvd NW). We extend special thanks to the staff at Rosedale Hospice for their careful watch and tender care. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rosedale Hospice, 1245 - 70 Avenue S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2H 2X8
