Annie Pauline ‘Polly’ Wynn, age 92, of Dominion passed away on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Coffin) Wilson. Polly was a devote member of the Anglican Church. She was formerly employed as a tourist home operator. She had a great love of flowers, gardening. Polly was a people person. The Town of Dominion had presented Polly with a citizen award for her contribution to the town.
She is survived by daughter, Judith McKean, New Glasgow; sons, Bruce (Carol), Debert, William (Ella), Manitoba; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are very close friends, Betty Morrison and Shirley MacLean, who will miss her dearly, as well as home care staff.
Polly was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Rhoda Lewis, Clara (Mrs. Neil Thomson), Vivian Melanson, Lois (Mrs. Albert Zillman); brothers, George Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Doug (Margie) Wilson.
Visitation for Polly Wynn will be held Sunday 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Interment will be at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.

God’s Garden
God looked upon His garden and
found an empty space, then He looked
down on the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you, and lifted you
to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, for He
only takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough,

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not
