KVINLAUG – Florence Marian
Passed away Friday Sept. 11, 2009 at Whispering Pine Place, Canwood. She was born July 8, 1919 at Delisle, Sask. to Albert and Alma Lilyengren. They moved to their farm in Ordale and upon her mother’s death moved to the Stump Lake area. She married Laurence Kvinlaug Sr. in 1941. On dad’s return from the War in 1945 they built the family farm in the Valbrand district. Here they raised their 6 children and resided until ill health forced them to move to Canwood. Mom was a hard worker but always had time for her growing family and later her grandchildren; all were welcomed into her home with a cup of coffee and home made baking or a meal. She was a capable, talented lady who gladly shared her skills. Mom and dad wintered in Arizona for 25 plus years where they enjoyed golfing and visiting with family and friends.Mom was predeceased by her parents Albert and Alma, husband Laurence Sr., youngest child Murray, son-in-law Douglas Primeau, sister Evelyn, sister-in-law Verna Thompson, brothers-in-law Walter Thompson and Vern Hampton, in-laws Eric and Myrtie Kvinlaug. She is survived by her children Laurence Jr. (Loretta), Terry (Sharon), Marian Primeau, Darlen, Beverly (Randy) Barkway, half sister Marie (Ben) Nicolson and her family. Grand children Trevor (Karen), Brynn, Kylie, Stacey (Dallas), Monty (Heather), Angelle, Mathew and Megan. Great grandchildren Sydney, Dylan, Casey, Kyle and Hunter. The Funeral Service for Florence will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at 11:00 a,m, in the Elk’s Community Hall in Canwood, Sk. Pastor Doug Schmirler will officiate, interment will take place in the Canwood North Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to Whispering Pine Place Activity Centre, Shellbrook, and District Hospital Fund, or the Doug Primeau Memorial Scholarship Fund at SIAST, Prince Albert.
