McNEIL, VALERIE - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Valerie Marie McNeil of Saint John who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday June 25, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint John August of 1933 she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Muriel (Waddell) McKee. Valerie worked in the Stock Transfer Office for NB Tel for over 22 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Mary’s-St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, the Altar Guild and T.O.P.S. Valerie was a past President and volunteered for the East Saint John Food Bank. Devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, Valerie enjoyed camping at Pine Cone Campground and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Donald; son Mark (Patrick); brother Curren McKee (Ruth) of Mississauga, ON; sisters Dolores Craft of Maitland Bridge, NS, Dawn Hannah (James) of Penobquis and Sharon McKee of Scarborough, ON; several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Valerie was predeceased by her sister Marlene.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, June 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Mary’s –St. Bartholomew Church on Wednesday June 29th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
