BOWSER, GORDON C. - Gordon Carl Bowser, 79, of Salisbury passed away peacefully Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital with his wife, daughter and friends at his side. Born in Verdun P.Q. he was a son of the late Victor and Edith (Mayer) Bowser. Gordon was a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. and a merchandising manager with Shoppers Drug Mart. Together with his wife Helen they founded and operated the "Village Takeout" in Petitcodiac for a number of years. He was a member of Salisbury Baptist Church, Salisbury Lions Club and enjoyed the Moncton Wildcats games. He was a Director and Vice President for the Petitcodiac Riding of the P.C. Association, a Past Director for the Fundy Royal Conservative Party and was a Director for Pine Hill Cemetery Ltd. Survived and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 58 years Helen (Budd), cherished daughter Heidi; sisters in law Beatrice Bowser of Moncton, Anna Bowser of Massachusetts and several nieces, nephews and many good friends. Predeceased by brothers Victor, Donald and Peter.
The family will receive friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral will be held Wednesday June 29 at 11 a.m. from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Nickerson officiating. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery, Moncton. If desired memorials to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Pine Hill Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
