It is with great sadness that the family of the late JOHN M. KELLY of St. Lawrence announces his passing at The US Memorial Health Care Centre in St. Lawrence on Friday June 24, 2011 at the age of 89. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are Wife Mary- Ellen (Nellie) of 45 years; Son Roche (Linda) of Oshawa, ON.; Other Children Eymard (Thecla) of Fort McMurray, Denis (Madeline) of Marystown, Thomas (Barbara) of St. Lawrence, John (Jean) of Lewin’s Cove, Madeline Power (Gordon) of St. John’s, Christina Keating (Harry) of Smith’s Creek, NB., and Sarah Strang (Norbert) of Penobsquis, NB.; 18 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by Parents Thomas & Madeline (Furlong) Kelly, Parents-in-law Ernest & Priscilla (Farrell) Turpin , Brother Roche, and Sisters Marie Kelly and Gertrude Turpin. Funeral Mass took place on Monday June 27, 2011 at 11:00am from St. Thomas Aquinas RC Church in St. Lawrence. Interment followed at Mount Cecilia RC Cemetery in St. Lawrence. In John’s memory, donations may be made to the Burin Peninsula SPCA or flowers gratefully accepted. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Wiseman’s Funeral Homes.
