Stewart Dodson
Lieu de décès : SYDNEY, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stewart Douglas Dodson, at the age of 58, from a hockey accident at the Stanley Cup playoffs in Toronto, Canada. A speeding puck hit him squarely between the eyes.
Stewart loved Susan Weldon, hockey, writing, elocution, poetry, music, people, dogs, Tim Hortons and golf.
He drove taxi for 20 years until he was robbed at knifepoint. This led to an early retirement.
He attended Colby and Woodland schools in Sydney. He graduated with a sense of humour and adventure from Upland High School, California in 1970. He later graduated from Sharon School of Broadcast, Pennsylvania in 1975.
He is predeceased by billions of people including his parents, William and Jean (Stewart) Dodson; and is survived by billions of people including his amazing siblings, Heather (Dodson) Thunell, John Dodson, Shauna (Dodson) Miller and Donald Dodson and numerous nieces and nephews, Adam, Britta, Peter, Kiersten, Alex, Sam, Joni, Casi, Jordan, Brian, Karli, Berg, Ethan and Evan; Jim McKay was Stew’s good friend and roommate.
Special thanks to the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care and compassion. Sharon Atha helped as high as the sky.
A roast/wake will be held at Chants Funeral Home Friday, July 1, 19:00-21:00. A service will be held also at Chants on Saturday, July 2, 14:00. Stew wanted to tell you:
"Please join my friends and family and bid me farewell. Crying is optional; clothes aren’t."
