Passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at his home in Kilbride. Ed Brocklehurst, aged 72 years. Ed, an outdoor enthusiast, was an avid hunter and fisherman. Predeceased by his parents Stan and Mildred Brocklehurst. Leaving to mourn his wife of 50 years, Margaret (nee Batten); sons: Barry (Shirley), and Stephen; daughter Judy (John Huxter); grandchildren: Holly, Emily, and Tayler; brothers: Kevin (Floss), Frank (Alice), and Paul (Glenda); sisters: Patsy (Gord), and Rosanne (Tony); sister-in-law Madge McDonald; brothers-in-law: Robert Batten (Clara), and Edward (Bud) Batten; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends - including special neighbours and shed buddies of Valleyview Road. Ed will be sadly missed by all who knew him. At Ed’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to The Vera Perlin Society & Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
