It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Chaisson announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the age of 76 years. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Amos and four daughters: Bertha (Jim) Woodrow of St. John’s, Pauline Chaisson of Stephenville, Ann (Sonny) Burton of Stephenville, Jeanette (Robert) Pretty of St. John’s and two brothers: Leonard (Dorothy) Braind of Stephenville, Sam (Muriel) Braind of Mainland, two sisters: Annie Gale of West Bay, Kate Woods of Stephenville, 10 grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Brian, John Michael, Sonny Jr., Nicholas, Shane, April, Hope, Desireé and two great-grandchildren: Abby and Haley and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers: Leo and Louis Braind. Visitation took place at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Friday, July 1st, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with Interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
