ALLEN, Frances “Dorothy”-(nee Harrison), 94, Shelburne, formerly of Berwick and North Sydney, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on June 27, 2011. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late John Leadley and L. Dorothy Harrison. Dorothy was a member of Trinity United Church, Shelburne. She travelled extensively throughout North America and looked forward to attending yearly family reunions held in various Provinces. She made lasting friendships in the places she lived during her lifetime. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Constantine, Saint John, N.B; Dorothy( Parker) Comeau, Shelburne; Frances (Joe) Gambin, Winnipeg, Manitoba; son, John (Arlene), Saint John, N.B; brother, R. Peter Harrison, Charlottetown, PEI; sisters in-law, Catherine Harrison and Pauline Harrison, both of Dartmouth; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John Arthur Allen; brothers, John , James and Paul Harrison; grandson, Adrian Gambin and son in-law, Gordon Constantine. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home ,Shelburne. Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 P.M. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 2 P.M. with Reverend Jim Bragan officiating. Interment will be in Berwick Cemetery on Monday July 4th at 2 P.M. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Roseway Hospital Ladies Auxillary, Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice. Special thanks to Dr. Michelle Cain and the nursing staff of Four South, Yarmouth Regional Hospital for the compassion and care given to our mother. Also thanks to Rev. Jim Bragan, Beacon United Church for his support and prayers during our trying time.
