NICKERSON, Shirley E. - Age 82 of Yarmouth, died June 26, 2011 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth, she was the daughter of the late George and Olive (Hamm) Raynard. Shirley enjoyed teaching and promoting square and round dancing in the Yarmouth and Pubnico area. She graduated from the House of Roth, Callers School. She was a member of the Nova Scotia Square and Round Dancing Federation, a member of the Nova Scotia Square Dancers Callers Association, a member of the Maritimes Callers Clinic. She enjoyed camping, boating, canoeing and all outdoor activities including motor cycling with her husband Burnley. She is survived by husband Burnley, one son Gary (Lynda) of Yarmouth, 2 great grandchildren, Dustin and Damon Johnson. There was no visitation by family request. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Cremation Services , Yarmouth. A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 2:00 pm from Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Rev. Robert Baker officiated. Internment took place in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery.
