GALLANT, DONAT J. - 1922-2011 - St. Louis de Kent - Donat Joseph Gallant, husband of the late Jennie L. Gallant, of the Villa Marie Nursing Home, St. Louis de Kent, passed away at his residence, on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the age of 89. Born in St. Ignace, on May 31, 1922, he was the son of the late Issac and Elizabeth (Daigle) Gallant. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator by trade and attended the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witnesses, in Rexton. He is survived by one son, Richard Gallant, of St. Louis de Kent; one sister, Alodea Mailliet, of St. Louis de Kent; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie L. Gallant; four sisters, Doris Frechette, Louise Bourget, Annie Raymond, May Fontaine; six brothers, Eoli, Albert, Tilmon, Theodore, Edmund, Leonard Gallant.
By his request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A public memorial service will be held from the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Rexton, on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Harry Collins. Interment will be in the Upper Rexton Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
