FOGARTY, CHARLES WILLIAM - Surrounded by his family the death of Charlie Fogarty, husband of Gail Fogarty (Fairweather) occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 30, 2011. He was born on September 11, 1943 in Grantown-on-Spey, Scotland to the late Patrick and Barbara (Miller) Fogarty. Charlie worked for over 27 years as an Estimator for Lafarge retiring in 2009. He loved the outdoors and trips with Gail to the cottage on Cumberland Bay.
Besides his wife Gail, Charlie is survived by his four children: Darren (Tracey) of Sooke, BC, Barbara Ferguson (Robert) of Ottawa, Chrissie Cyr, and Joanne Duplessis (Andrew Davidson) both of Saint John; three step-children: James Wood (Paula) of Miramichi, Craig Wood (Donna) and Kimberly DeBortoli (Giuliano) both of Saint John; brother, Ian (Betty); sister, Sally Gingras; father-in-law, Glen Fairweather; good friends: Geoff Duplessis and Vida Robinson; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, first wife, Ruth Fogarty and sister, Lydia Jensen.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will take place from St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11 AM. Private Family interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
