Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, September 13, 2009, James Slade of Carbonear, age 82 years. Predeceased by wife Edna; brothers: Ned, Jack and William; sisters: Hazel and Elsie. Leaving to mourn one daughter Janice Slade (Paul Snow), Carbonear; two sisters: Marjorie Penney, Salmon Cove and Ruth Mercer, Bay Roberts; sisters-in-law: Elva Slade, Carbonear and Geraldine Smith, Harbour Grace; brother-in-law Clayton (Phyllis) Morgan, Stephenville; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, September 16 at 2 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear.
