Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Friday, July 1, 2011. Lorraine Parsons aged 81 years. Predeceased by parents Charles and Merida Sellars; son Brent; sister Florence Cooper; brother Warren Sellars; brothers-in-law Sam Cooper and Jake Parsons. Leaving to mourn her husband of 62 years Russell; daughter Bev Stockwood (Ray); sons Marven Parsons (Madeline) and the Rev. Scott Parsons (Rev. Miriam Bowlby); daughter-in-law Wendy; grandchildren Melissa Hannam (Kent), Melanie Steele (Ian), Brent James Parsons, Kristina Parsons, Hilary Fillier, William Parsons and Carrie Parsons; great-grandchild Logan Hannam; sisters Myrtle Penney (George), Alma Adams (Max) and Stella Baggs (Bert); brother Cal Sellars (Joyce); sisters-in-law Florence Sellars and Mae Parsons; brothers-in-law Winston Parsons (Edith) and Ern Parsons (Dot), as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Topsail United Church on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Topsail United Cemetery.
