Lovelace, Joan Eileen - 73 years old, passed away peacefully on July 2nd, 2011 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma and kidney failure. She had an incredibly wonderful life with family and friends who surrounded her with love and support.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bob); son, Robert; daughters, Colleen (Jacques) and Elizabeth (Paul); sister, Donna Clements and mother-in-law, Doris Lovelace. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jas, Caitlyn, Evan, Matthew, Izak and Kianna who absolutely adored her.
Joan was a loving wife, an incredible mother and a very proud grandmother. Joan will be remembered for her endless kindness, unconditional love, for her eternal sense of humour and for her never-ending love and dedication to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Special thanks to the 4F nurses at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital with special recognition to Robert, Shirley, Irene and Sophie who will always hold a place in the families heart for the amazing care and support that you provided her with during her prolonged hospital stay. The family would like to also thank the Palliative Care Unit at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for the care and compassion shown to Joan and our family.
In accordance with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place in Stirling, Ontario. A celebration of Joan's life will take place at the family home (121 Tidnish Head Lane, Tidnish, Nova Scotia) on Tuesday, July 5th, 2011 between 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Palliative Care Organization of choice.
