Elizabeth Mae Young, 87, of Sunset Drive, Sydney, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Dumbell) Stanovie.
Surviving are her daughters, Glenda Farrell, Ottawa, Ont., and Helen Doublett, Sydney; son, John, Fergus, Ont.; brother, George, Kitchener, Ont.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Stephen, son, Raymond, sisters, Theresa Stevens, Rose Gallagher and Martha Wilson, brothers, John and James.
There will be no visitation. A family graveside service will take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
