ARNOLD WILK

Date de décès : 30 juin 2011

ARNOLD (ARNIE) WILK of Moose Jaw passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the age of 62 years. Born August 11, 1948 in Moose Jaw, Arnie was an incredibly hard worker all his life and his passion for trucking began at the young age of 15. For the next 47 years he built and developed a very successful trucking company and continued working with his employees till the day he passed. He was a man who enjoyed life and worked very hard to give himself and his family the very best. Working from sun-up to sun-down, from spring until fall gave him the ability to head to one of his favorite getaways in the winter months, Phoenix, Arizona where he loved to golf and relax with his wife and very special friends, Jim and Sophie. He was never short of company visiting him in Phoenix. Arnie was a determined man with a passion to succeed in life and along the way amassed a huge amount of friends very special and dear to him. There was very few who didn’t know Arnie. He loved to support many sport teams in Moose Jaw, as well as playing and coaching broomball, softball and hockey for many years. Arnie gave generously to many charities throughout the city. If anybody needed help with anything, Arnie was always there and could be counted on to lend a hand. Strong minded, tough and stubborn, but had the kindest heart to anyone in need. Family was always his top priority and he will be sadly missed by many. Predeceased by his parents, Mike and Pauline, brother, Robert and his niece, Emma, Arnie is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons: Darcy Peesker (Patti), Darren and Dale, sister, Dianne (Mike); brothers: Raymond, Gerald (Kathy), Wayne (Debra), Jim (Kathy), Terry and Ernie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and special friend, “Chewy” – Darren’s dog. The Funeral Service will be held at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. N., on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Dave Moore will officiate. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 – 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8. In living memory of Arnie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register book at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
