William (Billy) Cameron - Bill passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Central Butte Regency Manor. Bill was born Feb. 25, 1953. He was predeceased by his father Dal Cameron in 1973, his mother Helen Cameron in 1990, niece Dana Knarr in 1989 and his beloved aunt Shorty Butler in 2002. He is survived by his brother Doug (Linda) Cameron, sister Marilyn (Wayne) Knarr; nephew Eric Knarr, niece Laura Knarr, great-niece Kylie Knarr and great-nephew Cameron Knarr; his aunt Glee (Bud) Lyndal, and cousins Louise (Frank) Gyrlevich, David (Arlene) Butler, John (Chris) Butler and families. Bill loved life and all the people in it. He attended John Chisholm School and at 19 went to work at Diversified Services. He remained there, living at home in Moose Jaw until his mother passed away in 1990. At that time he came to the farm at Eyebrow to live with his sister and family. He was very involved in farm life. He did chores, helped around the house, and cut up old barn boards and posts for the wood stove. Most days he could be found outside sawing away. Bill loved to attend community events, fall suppers, and most of all Christmas and his birthday. The last six or seven years Bill began to attend the day program at the Central Butte Regency Manor for one day a week. That was the highlight of his week. The staff treated him wonderfully. When the time came that he needed more help and care than we could give him at home, his transition to living full time at the Regency Manor was very easy. He went there to live in August, 2008. He was very happy living there and the care, attention, and affection he received was beyond excellent. Bill loved so many people, and he had so many friends, he will be sadly missed. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2:30 pm. Billy will be laid to rest beside his parents at Rosedale Cemetery. Donations to the Central Butte Regency Manor in Bill’s memory would be greatly appreciated. In living memory of Billy, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
