Cecil Dickinson
DICKINSON, CECIL GEORGE - Cecil G. Dickinson of Rossville, NB passed away July 5, 2011 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1929 at Campbell Settlement, NB, he was a son of the late Marshall and Elois (Nye) Dickinson. Cecil owned a farm and worked as a teamster in the woods. He later worked at Southampton Sawmill and after retirement, was employed at Kings Landing Historical Settlement, doing what he enjoyed the most, driving a team of horses. He loved and was loved as a husband, father and grandfather. Cecil left behind a great void in all the hearts of those who really knew him. Always joking and laughing, enjoying life and a cigar or two along the way, lending a hand when needed, calling and leaving a message on the phone, "No message, just being nosey". Cecil is survived by his wife, Shirley M. (Dore) Dickinson; three daughters, Audrey Jones, Hainesville, NB, Kathy Lavigne (Lorne), Fredericton, NB and Dianne Dickinson Schriver (Trevis), Rossville, NB; two sons, Robert Dickinson (Judy) and Keith Dickinson (Helen), both of Campbell Settlement, NB; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Eva Lenentine, Woodstock, NB, Edith Gardens (Sandy), Guelph, ON, Noreen Carruthers (Ross) and Hazel Doherty, both of Nackawic, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Cecil was predeceased by a sister, Joyce McGuire and a brother, Eugene Dickinson.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Rhyno and Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Interment in Lenentine Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Cecil, the family has suggested the Nackawic Baptist Church or Lenentine Cemetery.
