Clarke Sheppard
Clarke E. Sheppard, age 88, of Sackville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Moncton City Hospital.
Born in Toronto, he was a son of the late Charles Elmore and Margaret (Knowles) Sheppard.
Clarke was a Corporal in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II serving in Canada from 1942 to 1945. He worked as an engineering technician and retired to Sackville in 1978. He constructed two home built aircraft in the late ’50s to early ’60s. He was a past Director of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society - Turnbull Chapter, NB. Aircraft and flying were his life's passion, as well as his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years Ailene of Sackville; daughter Dawn Sheppard (Larry McIntosh), Belle River, ON; sons Ed (Teresa), Port Hope, ON, Neil (Alyson), Etobicoke, ON, Norman (Cecilia Jensen), Sackville, Graham (Sandra), Sackville; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; brother Robert, Port Hope, ON.
He was predeceased by a brother Melvin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where a private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery.
