Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 of Ernest Stephen Peters, of Millcove and formerly of St. Charles, age 89 years.
Beloved husband of Leona Mary (nee Hughes) Peters, and dear father of Joan (Elmer) McDougall, Alan (Paula) Peters, and Stephen (Darlene) Peters. Loving grandfather of nine grandchildren Sean, Michael and Maria McDougall, Ryan, Sarah and Luke Peters, Mark, Trent and Matthew Peters. Also two great-grandchildren Jack McDougall and Avary Doucette.
He was predeceased by a son Kevin Michael; and his 11 siblings, George, Ambrose, Frank, Albany, Phonsie, Mary, Rose, Carrie, Sophie and Leonora.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 1:30 Friday afternoon, then transferred to St. Michael's Church, Corran Ban, for funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in the parish cemetery.
Visiting hours at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Church Cemetery Fund, Corran Ban or IWK Health Centre.
