Passed away as a result of a tragic accident, on July 5th, 2011, at the age of 51 years. He was born in St. John’s, lived in Labrador City, and returned to St. John’s to attend Memorial University, and became a long time employee of the Department of Transportation and Works. Joe was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and loyal friend to all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents John and Regina (Nash) English. Leaving to mourn wife Linda; stepdaughter Terilynn Anderson (Darcy Simmelink) and grandson Kevin Simmelink; brothers Bruce (Paula), Tantallon N.S., Tony (Regis), Dominion N.S., nieces Kaitlin Pye (Jon) and Sarah, mother-in-law Hazel Seward, brother-in-law Bill Penney (Marlene), nephew Mark Penney, other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, St. John’s. Visiting hours Thursday, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday from 12:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral mass to take place on Saturday July 9, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Parish, Mundy Pond Road, St. John’s. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Joe’s name to War Amps or a charity of one’s choice.
