Nelson, M. Graham
1933-2021

À la suite d’une courte maladie du cancer, à l’âge de 87 ans, est décédé M. Graham Nelson demeurant à Cowansville. Il était le fils de feu Clifford Nelson et feu Bertha Daniels. Née à Salford, Angleterre. Enfant, lors de l’opération éclaire de 1940-1941, il quitte l’Angleterre vers le Canada afin de garantir sa sécurité. Graham s’est éventuellement retrouvé à Cowansville où il a rencontré et marié Mme Mance Normandin. Après avoir vécu à Beaconsfield et à Lasalle, pendant plusieurs années, il est retourné à Cowansville où il à vécu ses derniers jours. Il aimait être au Lac Selby, un coin précieux dans son coeur. Graham était reconnu pour son amour de la lecture et du curling. Graham a survécu son épouse feu Mance Normandin et ses frères; mais laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Peter et Nancy (David Bolger), sa nièce Louise Normandin (Jean-Paul Gaumond) et sa petite-nièce Émilé-Rose. La famille recevra les sympathies en l’église Ste-Rose-de-Lima de Cowansville le jeudi 22 juillet à compter de 10h, suivi des funérailles à 11h. L’inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Repose en paix. Graham Nelson, 87, of Cowansville, passed away on February 7, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born to parents Clifford Nelson and Bertha Daniels in Salford, England. As a child, he left England during the second world war bombing blitz to the safety of Canada. Graham eventually settled in Cowansville where he met and married his true love Mance Normandin.
After a long-time residence in Beaconsfield and then Lasalle, he returned to his cherished Cowansville to live out the last years of his life. Selby Lake held a special place in his heart. Graham was known for his love of reading and curling.
He outlived his wife and his brothers, but is survived by his children Peter and Nancy (David Bolger), his niece Louise Normandin (Jean-Paul Gaumond) and great-niece Émilie-Rose. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Ste-Rose-de-Lima Church in Cowansville, QC, on Thursday July 22nd, at 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am.
