Roy King
KING: Roy Bruce King passed away at 78 years of age at the Cypress Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Roy was born in Swift Current on July 23, 1932 and raised on the farm near Stewart Valley. He was the youngest son of John and Clara King. In his younger days he loved to play baseball and his work on the farm. Roy was a long time school bus driver, a job he enjoyed very much. When Roy moved to Swift Current he worked at the Royal Canadian Legion, then the Saskatchewan Liquor Store until his retirement in 1993. Roy loved dogs and always had a faithful friend with him. Roy leaves to mourn, his wife of 21 years Lenora, four stepchildren, nine step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren and their families. He is also survived by his brother Leslie (Edna), sister Audrey Scott and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Clara, brothers Charles and Garnet and brother-in-law Al Scott. The Funeral Service was held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church with Reverend Ken Schrag officiating. The organist was Yolande Gorrill. A solo was performed by Garnet Ebach. The Life Tribute was presented by Scott Cassiday. The pallbearers were Scott Cassidy, Brett Cassidy, Dale Allen, Tammy Allen, Naomi Mosquito and Natasha Mosquito. The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
