Annie Louise Stewart
Stewart, Annie Louise , Truro passed away peacefully on July 13, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Windsor Forks, she was the eldest daughter of the late James E. O’Brien and Evelyn Hazel (Eldridge) O’Brien. Annie was a graduate of the Horton Academy of Acadia University in Wolfville, Katherine Anslow’s Windsor School of Business and a graduate in Nursing from the Children’s Hospital in Halifax where she obtained her RN. She was a past president of the Truro Branch of the Canadian Red Cross, first president of the Truro RCMP Stetsonettes and a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Truro. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, William “Bill” Stewart, Truro; sons, James (Mary Ellen Sullivan), Halifax, Timothy, Toronto; granddaughter, Evelyn Louise Stewart, Toronto; sisters, Mary Harvey (the late Herman Harvey), Windsor Forks, Patricia “Pat” Murray (Bob), Truro; nephew, John Murray (Cathy), River John; nieces, Nancy Reid (David), Pugwash, Sarah Hart (Gary), Windsor Forks. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15 from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Funeral service on Saturday, July 16 at 1 pm in St. John’s Anglican Church, 23 Church Street with Rev. Gary Yetman officiating. Interment in Terrace Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only.
