Ulysse Cormier
CORMIER, ULYSSE - Ulysse Cormier, 80, of Moncton, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Born on July 4, 1931 in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Maxime and Zélia (LeBlanc) Cormier. Before his retirement, Ulysse was employed with the City of Moncton on maintenance for 25 years. He served three years in the Korean War and 10 years as a peacekeeper in Germany. While he was overseas, he made 36 jumps as a paratrooper. He was a member of the Moncton Legion #6. He is survived by his wife, Doris Bourgeois, two daughters: Nicole Belliveau (François) and Monique Cormier, both of Saint-Antoine; three sons: Emery “Pete” (Frances) and George, both of Moncton, and Daniel of Montréal, QC; two sisters: Claudette Robichaud (late Ted) of Richibouctou and Gloria Stewart (Russell) of Trenton, ON; four grandchildren: Sophie, Josée, Mathieu and Alex as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Denise (1995), two sisters: Rita and Yvonne as well as one brother, Emerie.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m. until time of departure (1:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (Parkton) R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. Veterans of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
