DEVARENNES, BERTHA - Bertha Devarennes 97, formerly of Cedar Street in Moncton, passed away at the Villa du Repos in Moncton on Tuesday July 12, 2011. Born on October 16, 1913 in Robertville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy (Duguay) White. She is survived by two daughters: Patsy Gachie (Sam) of Nairobi, Kenya and Betty Hallman (Sonny) of Fredericton; three sons: Normand (Maria) of Grande-Digue, Gérald (Corinne) of Saint-Anselme and Harold (Frances) of Moncton; one daughter-in-law: Adeline DeVarennes of Dieppe; five sisters: Rita Comeau (late Adelard) of Robertville, Elva Corcoran (late Bill) of Uxbridge, ON, Irene Berthelot (late Edouard) of Bathurst, Jeannette LeBlanc of Montréal and Mildred Shwaluk (late Samuel) of Hamilton, ON; two brothers: Edmond LeBlanc (late Yvette) of Laval, QC, and Armand White (late Anolda) of Beresford; 14 grandchildren: Terry, Nicole, Brian, Gary, Teddy, Chris, David, Betty, Cathy, Raymond, Rosy, Lori, Timothy and Garett, 19 great-grandchildren: Melanie, Mathieu, Nathasha, Kyla, Christopher, Haley, Lindsay, Cody, Kevin, Melissa, Samantha, Noa, Tony, Leo, Trish, Ethan, Soteil, Jake and Cameron; two great-great-grandchildren: Britanny and Tiana, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur (2003); one son, Raymond (2009); one granddaughter, Suzanne (2004); two sisters: Melvina and Kathleen as well as five brothers: Delphis, Harold, Kenneth, Normand and Réginald.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Saturday July 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
