September 16, 1928 - September 18, 2009. It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Richard Mahon, announce his passing. Predeceased by his loving wife Joan. He will be dearly missed by his devoted best friend and companion Ruth Clarke. Also leaving to mourn his 18 children, 12 sons: Bill, Rich, Ted, Ron, David, Tommy, Steve, Basil, Ken, Wayne, Donald and Gord; 6 daughters: Geraldine, Joan, Elizabeth, Diane, Linda and Carolanne, along with their spouses and families. Also leaving to mourn his sisters: Betty, Lorraine and Bernice and a large circle of extended family and friends. At his request, cremation has already taken place, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass on Monday, September 21 at 10 a.m. from St. Francis of Assisi Church, Outer Cove. Inurnment to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Outer Cove. A special thanks to the caring and supportive staff at the Waterford Dialysis Unit. Donations in his memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
