FINNAMORE, DONALD A. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald A Finnamore, of Quispamsis, NB, on July 14 , 2011, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on March 11, 1939, in Perth- Andover, NB, Don was the son of the late Alton and Rose Finnamore. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Edith Finnamore (Laviolette) of Quispamsis, NB, sons Dwight (Therese), of Huntley, Illinois, Paul (Roberta), Saint John, NB and daughter, Donna (Mark) Collins, Rothesay, NB. He was the loving brother of Gerald (Carolyn), Milton (Barb), Russel (Bertha), Wilfred (Theresa), Eugene (Anita) , Verdell (Margaret), Gregory (Patria), Delores (Bob) Waugh, Dawn (the late Jim) Crawford, Janice (Darryl) Ouellette ; Beloved “Grand-Dad” of Darren (Rachel), Leah, Daniel, Bailey, Drew, Kelsey ; Great Grand-Dad to Shawn and Aaron, and uncle to several nieces and nephews. Don was a well respected adjuster in the insurance industry, working in Perth- Andover, Woodstock, Edmundston, and finally Saint John where he went on to co-own the claims firm, Finnamore and Partners Ltd. After building a very successful reputation, Don retired in 1999, and has since enjoyed a relaxing life, spending time fishing, hunting, playing cards, helping out at the salon, and enjoying the company of his loving family and friends.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home, 1109 West Riverside Drive, Perth-Andover, NB, with visitation on Monday from 12 to 2 pm, and funeral service to follow at 2pm at the funeral home. Father Gilbert Doddatto officiating. Reception will be held at The St. Mary of Angels Church Hall following a private family interment. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
