DESGROSEILLIERS, JOSEPH "DES" H.R. - It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph "Des" Desgroseillers announce his death at home on July 14th, 2011 at the age of 75. Born in Montreal, QC on October 11th, 1935 he was the son of the late Henry and Eugenie (Beauchamp) Desgroseilliers. Des leaves behind his daughters, Barb (Myles) Martin and Terri (Mike) Innes; sons, Joey, Bob, Jerry (Sharon) and Tommy (Shelly) Desgroseilliers; sisters, Terri and Pauline; brothers, Jerry and Paul; 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; special friend, Suzanne; Mary Desgroseilliers; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Henry and Eugenie, Des was predeceased by his brothers, Leo and Andre. Des served in the Canadian Military for 27 years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 in Fredericton. He had a variety of interests and hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and worked as a guide for many years. He was a dance instructor, a Golden Gloves Boxer and was also a certified life guard and decorated competitive diver.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Sunday, July 17th, 2011 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at 7 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 18th at 1 pm with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will take place in Oromocto Pioneer Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Des's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be made at www.oromoctofh.com
