Leo Carter
CARTER, LEO - 1921 - 2011 - Leo Carter, 89, of the Veteran’s Health Center, Moncton and formerly of Lakeview Manor in Riverview, of Moncton and also Dorchester, NB, passed away on Sunday, July 17th, 2011, at his residence. Born in Kouchibouguac, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Mae (née: Raymond) Carter. Mr. Carter had retired from the Department of the Solicitor General (Dorchester Penitentiary). He was a WW II Veteran, having served in Canada, England and Continental Europe. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Champlain Place Walking Club and St.-Michael’s parish. He is survived by his wife, Audrey (née: McLellan); his children: Betty (Eugene) Melanson of Dieppe, William J. (Bernadette) of Riverview, Ruth (Gary) D’Entremont of Kentville, NS, Todd (Sharon) of Kamloops, BC and Nancy Searles (Emmanuel) of Moncton; two sisters: Alberta May and Jean (Alan) Cargill, both of Ontario; 10 grandchildren: Derek, Joanne, Patricia, Grant, Shane, Cheryl, Scott, Jennifer, Michael and Jason; seven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 pm. Legion service at 4:45pm. Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 at 10:30 am. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
