Our dear sister Leona passed away on September 14, 2009 in Edmonton, Alta.
We fondly remember Leona as the long ago playground tomboy and staunch defender of our clan, the teenage belle of the ball, a fiercely loyal mother, an accomplished school teacher and finally as Grandma Nonnie, whose penchant for mischief and unique brand of wit and wisdom delighted her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Leona lived ardently and she brought the fun. When she stumbled, she rose gallantly. She met her final days with grace and dignity and, true to form, she left us smiling.
We are diminished by her passing and will carry her in our hearts (smiling, of course).
God speed - from siblings Ron, Connie, Sheila, Margaret, Mike, Mary, Theresa, Joyce and Tom and mother, Helen (Troke) Fennell.
