Passed away peacefully in the arms of her family, on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, Joan Kent (Evans), of Bell Island, aged 92. Predeceased on February 20, 2011, by her husband of 63 years, Peter; and on November 15, 2010, by her son Karl; her parents John and Mathilda Evans, Laura Evans; her brothers James Evans, Martin, Daniel, and John O’Keefe, sisters Elizabeth Evans, Catherine Olson, and Agnes O’Keefe. Left with loving memories and to celebrate her wonderful life are her children: Cynthia Nolan, Keith (Joan), Kevin (Margaret), Rhonda Kelly (Dave), Agnesmarie Cahill (Gerald), Colin, and Lisa Power (Tony); grandchildren: Krista Mennie (Bill), Karolyn Nolan (Pat), Scott (Theresa), Craig, and Evan Kent, Trina Noseworthy (Paul), Stephanie Tobin (Todd), Kenneth Kent (Angie), Lynette Kelly (Rob), Janelle Kelly (Kirk), Renee Ryan (Rodney), Laurie Anne MacDonald (George), Gillian Byrne (Randy), and Andrew Power; ten special great-grandchildren; her sisters Maud Kent and Mary Ricketts; sisters-in-law: Alice Whalen, Agnes O’Keefe (Philip), Catherine Carpentier (Albert), and Maud O’Keefe; brothers-in-law: Jack Kent and Donald Kolonel; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Rickey Kent (Marilyn), and Rita Black (Tom). She will also be sadly missed by Lois, Debbie, Marilyn, Connie, Wanda, Paula, and many other neighbours and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, July 21, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Michael’s Church, Bell Island, with interment to follow.
