PORTER, REGINALD A. "REGGIE" - 1955 - 2011 - Reginald A. Porter, 55, of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert passed away on July 21st, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Reggie was born in Hillsborough on November 18th, 1955, the son of Claude Porter and the late Eleanor (Jonah) Porter. Reggie worked at METS and was a member of the MCRI for 40 years. He loved woodworking and also piling the winter wood, he would spend hours in the wood pile and it had to be piled just so. He was an avid fan of bluegrass music and went to several festivals with his mom and dad. Reggie was a special guy who always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be remembered for his big grin. He will live on in the hearts of his family forever. He will be deeply missed by his dad, Claude Porter of Germantown; sisters, Bonnie Rossiter (Bob) of Germantown, Sharon Porter of Forest Dale Home and his special nephew and niece, Tyler Rossiter (Lisa) of Weldon and Jackie Steeves (Matthew) of Hillsborough; by his great niece, Macie; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be deeply missed by Marcel and Lorraine Ledger who were his care givers for 23 years, they held a special place in Reggie's heart.
Honoring the family's wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of his Life and Funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, July 24th, 2011 at 2:00pm with Rev. Carol Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Alma United Cemetery. Donations to the Forest Dale Home or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
