Peter Arthur (Art) Wall, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Palliser Regional Care Center in Swift Current, SK after a lengthy illness. Peter was born on August 30, 1935 in Darlingford, MB, the second eldest in a family of five children. He grew up on a farm near Edrans, MB and moved to Swift Current, where he married the love of his life, Anne Dyck on October 5, 1958, in Schoenfeld, SK. Peter developed a passion for horses at an early age, which was cultivated by his father’s love for horses. In his teen years, he worked in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Throughout his life, Peter broke and trained many horses. He operated a mixed farm south of Swift Current, SK, for about 40 years. During that time, he also was employed in several jobs including, telephone linesman, bus driver, and heavy equipment (cat) operator. Peter was a jack-of-all-trades, a vet, electrician, carpenter, repairman, welder, hunter, cook, butcher, harness maker, teacher and storyteller. He was more than willing to share his skills and talents with neighbors, friends and family. Peter was proud of his children and loved spending time with them and in later years, spending time with his grandchildren also brought great joy. He enjoyed telling tales of his younger years, hunting and the life of a farmer. Peter spent his final weeks at the Cypress Regional Hospital and transferred to the Palliser Regional Care Center 2 ½ weeks prior to his passing. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anne; his children, Glen (Melva) Wall; Ken (Marilyn) Wall; Les (Vivian) Wall; Lorraine (Ken) Blaich; Larry Wall; Wanda (Sean) Gordon; Brenda (Clarence) Tschetter; Dale (Heather) Wall; grandchildren, Michael Wall, Kimberly Wall, Kari (Dustin) Mathies, Kristi (Philip) Jarvis, Bradi Wall, Brock Wall, Ava Gordon, Craig Tschetter, Christopher Tschetter, Dustin Tschetter, Jaelynn Tschetter, Derek Wall, Kelsi Wall, Sydney Wall; great-granddaughter Kallee; sisters, Elizabeth (Clarence) Friesen, Margaret Friesen, Mary Ann (Harry) Harder and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Katherina Wall; sister Helen; brother-in-law George Buhler and by 4 siblings in infancy. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cypress Regional Hospital and Palliser Regional Care Center for their care and support during his lengthy illness. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 2:00 pm from the Wymark EMC at Chortitz, Chortitz, SK, with Pastor Len Harms officiating. Trudy Olfert was the pianist. “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “Amazing Grace” and “What a Day That Will Be” were the Hymns sung by the congregation under the direction of Archie & Sylvia Neufeld. Special Music was brought by Archie & Sylvia Neufeld singing “Why Me Lord?”. A Tribute was given by Ken Wall and a powerpoint presentation was given by the family. The Ushers were Francis Dyck and Trevor Dyck, and the following serving as Pallbearers, Michael Wall, Craig Tschetter, Christopher Tschetter, Dustin Tschetter, Dustin Mathies and Philip Jarvis. The Interment was held at the Chortitz Cemetery, Chortitz, SK. Donations made to the Gideon’s International would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
