
Tena Craddock
Tena Craddock (nee Ensz) passed away in hospital in Campbell River, British Columbia, on 16 May, 2011, after a fall in her home on 3 May. She was born to Jacob I. Ensz and Aganetha "Nettie" Schmidt in Herbert, Saskatchewan on 31 October, 1918. She grew up on the family homestead east of Neidpath, and remembered the names of all of the teachers from Ensz School. She was 92 and still living in her own condo in Cambell River. She married Harold "Aussie" Craddock on 8 July 1960 and they resided at Quathiaski Cove, Quadra Island, British Columbia, until Aussie died in 1989. She was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings: Joseph Ensz, Anna (Henry) Buller, Mary Ensz, Bill (Susie) Ensz, Martha (John) Schroeder, Lena (Jacob) Rempel, Elma (George) Shindel, Agnes (Arthur) Deckert, Walter (Ruby) Ensz, and Bert (Mary) Ensz. She is survived by her step-children: Pete Craddock, Mike (Sharon) Craddock and Jackie (Ken) Sumner, and their families, and by many nieces and nephews . Tena moved west in the late 1930s, first to Banff, and then to Vancouver. She was hostess and server in CN hotels until she married Aussie. Tena was cremated at the Campbell River Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service with John Duncan officiating, in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, 23 July.
