Vivian (Robertson) Francis, 78, Fraser Avenue, Sydney Mines, died on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Anne (Brogan) Robertson.
Vivian is survived by Kate Carney and her husband, John Currie and their children, Dr. Suzie Currie and Kerry Lynn (Craig) Mercer, Anne Lynne and her husband, the late Stan MacDougall and their children, Jamie, Stephen (Renae) and Ian MacDougall, Bob and his wife, Jeanne Francis and their children, Jonathan (Marni), David (Jennifer) Francis and Meghan Francis (Micheal Burritt), Nacy and her husband, Norman Duncan and their children, Maura and Stephanie Duncan and her only great-grandchild, Rex Micheal Francis-Burritt. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George R. Francis; her sisters, Patricia Norman and Anne Webster and her brother, Robert ‘Sonny’ Robertson.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
Arrangements are under the direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
