Joseph Charles Lee, 67, of Sydney River passed away suddenly at his home on July 20, 2011.
Born and raised in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Frank and Susan (Herritt) Lee.
After attending St. FX University, Joe resided in Halifax and Toronto before returning to Sydney River for the latter part of his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia, where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Joe enjoyed the magic of Christmas and spoiling his wife and children. Many Sunday afternoons were spent dancing with his wife, Teresa in their living room.
He leaves behind daughters, Laurie (Lance Nakamura) and Amy (John Conway); grandchildren, Kaiden, Spencer, Phoebe and Megan, all of Ontario.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his loving wife, Teresa Catherine.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, July 25, in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fr. Devereaux will officiate. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
