It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Mary Pamela McAskill-Moser, 55, of Glace Bay on Monday, July 25, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Betty (Tredenick) McAskill, Sydney and the late John McAskill.
She is survived by sisters, Betty-Anne Fraser (Gordon), Nunavut, Bobbie Raoul (John), Thorburn, Cindy McAskill (Bert), Antigonish, and a brother, John F. McAskill (Beth), Smithers, B.C.
She was also predeceased by an infant sister, Katherine Jane.
Pamela was a special aunt to Matthew, Kate and Justin Chisholm, John Daniel Raoul, Amanda and Ben McAskill.
Pamela was employed as a PCW in her earlier years in Halifax, where she brought a smile to the faces and hearts of many seniors. She returned to Sydney where she assisted in the care of her father during his lengthy illness. After a tragic accident left Pamela a quadriplegic in 2009, she resided at Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay.
Pamela’s courageous journey propelled her forward in her life to advocate for herself and others. Even after her accident when she no longer could walk, she used her strong voice and huge heart to carry on the beauty of her compassionate soul.
“Think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.” Ellen Brenneman
