BARKER, GLENWOOD - The passing of Glenwood Hayden Barker occurred at Thomas Hall Shannex complex, Fredericton on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was 79. Born in Fort Fairfield Maine, he was the son of the late Hayden and Elizabeth (Tufts) Barker. Glenwood was the owner of New Maryland Automotive and a member of the New Maryland United Church, as well as a member of the fish and gun associations. Glenwood is survived by his wife Betty (Mary Elizabeth), one daughter Deborah Barker (Terry) of Edmonton, two sons; Christopher Glen Barker of Vermont and Dean Albert Barker of Charters Settlement. Grandchildren; Daniel Cannon, Galvin Barker and Shyanne Chorny all of Edmonton. Two sisters; Darlene Alexander (Horace) of New Maryland and Helena Smith (Stewart) of New Maryland as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 28, 2011 from 7 to 9, at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. Funeral service will be at the New Maryland United Church on Friday July 29 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bob Jones Officiating. Interment to take place in the adjoining Cemetery.
